Feb. 3: Cheboygan Blood Orange Honey

Cheboygan Blood Orange HoneyBOH no CBC Web-01

American-style Wheat Beer

5.7% ABV, 10 IBU

Brewery Description: A unique twist on a great American-style wheat beer, with the addition of fresh local wildflower honey mixed with blood orange zest, and blood orange puree. The result is a medium bodied beer that is very smooth with a residual sweetness, and creaminess from the honey, and an
exhilarating nose of citrus from the orange.

Tasting Notes: Honey and subtle citrus aroma, nice mellow blend of orange, tangerine, and honey.  Sweet but not cloying, with moderate carbonation; well balanced with no noticeable hop bitterness.  A delightful brew that can be enjoyed on a hot summer day or a cold winter night.  Light and approachable, a nice easy-drinking beer that will appeal to everyone.

Food Pairings: Light salads, fruit salads, sweet and sour pork, soft cheeses, and fruity desserts.  Valentine’s Day suggestion: Lemon Meringue Pie.

Availability: 16 oz. cans, distributed in Michigan.
