Short’s Soft Parade

High Gravity Ale fermented with blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and blackberries.

7.5% ABV, 15 IBU

Brewery Description: Soft Parade is a gourmet specialty pour that is brewed with toasted rye flakes and two-row malted barley. Loaded with pureed strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries, we refer to this fermented potion as a fruit infused rye ale. The result is a refreshing fruit delicacy that is easy to drink, visually appealing, and finishes dry.

Tasting Notes: Pours a light red-orange color with an effervescent head that quickly dissipates. Aroma of strawberries, tart cherries and red grapes. Raspberry is the dominant fruit flavor, followed by mixed berries and a dry finish. Spicy rye malt base balances the fruit well. Pleasantly surprised that fruit flavor is more tart than sweet. Moderately carbonated, reminiscent of a sparkling wine. This beer should appeal to wine drinkers, and might be a nice choice for sweethearts that aren’t normally into craft beer. Soft Parade is not overly sweet like soda pop or flavored malt beverages, and may be enjoyed by seasoned craft drinkers as well.

Food Pairings: Brie Cheese, White Chocolate, Ice Cream, Tiramasu. Valentine’s Day suggestion: Sip with cheesecake.

Availability:Available year around exclusively in Michigan stores.
